Originally, the plan was to have the design centered on the page. Part of the reason for the design being at the left is the way that the header and footer images are designed. Unfortunately since SOME browsers that have more than 50% of the market share (ahem) don't display transparent pngs correctly. So I had to hard-code the red and black design into the background of the header and footer "screen" images, which lie over-top of the red and black background and line up with it perfectly. If I center the header and footer "screen" images, I could not figure out how to make it line up correctly with the underlying background. I'm sure it's possible using some fancy CSS, but I never took the time to figure it out. Considering the number of widescreen monitors are growing, this is definitely something to take into consideration in the future. I did notice it though, since I was finishing up the design on my new WS laptop.

Hey! I like the design the moment I saw the preview. There was only one thing I was going to tell you, and it's actually a matter of personal preference so you may not agree.. but looking at the page on a widescreen monitor (as you probably do on your new rig ;-P) having the page anchored left felt a bit weird to me because there is all this empty space to the right. But I love the red/black design for the top and bottom background banners, and the brain image is perfect!
